31 Weeks and Counting

How far along? 31 Weeks - Single weeks left until the big day!

How big is baby? Gummy Bear is roughly the size of a large squash. Love these veggie comparisons! At my ultrasound 1 week and a half ago he/she was weighing in at 2lbs 14 oz, so I'm anticipating him/her to be a bit heavier now.

Total weight gain: At my last appointment with Dr. J I had put on a quarter of a pound. wooo-hooo! AND I ate a huge breakfast about 25 minutes before, so that must've helped! haha. But, I haven't gained any weight overall during this pregnancy.

Maternity Clothes? I have opted out of maternity clothing and live in sun dresses and comfy skirts that were all found in the clearance section at Wal Mart! Yay for being comfortable AND cheap!

Stretch marks? None in sight

Belly button? Hasn't changed any from the last time. Still between an innie and an outtie!

Sleep: Ahhh, my old friend who I desperatley need to catch up with because it feels like forever since I've had a really good visit with them. Between my sore back from my fall on my tailbone and the humidity, I'm finding it really hard to get some good bankable hours sleeping. I'm hoping my back pain will eventually get better in the next few weeks so that I can start catching up and getting rested before Gummy Bear arrives.

Movement: Somersaults, cartwheels, back flips! This kid should already be registered for gymnastics! Along with the frequent hiccups, my belly is always full of excitement and movement. :)

Food cravings: Not too many cravings, but I seem to obsess over certain sandwich varities until I get bored with them and move on to new creations. For example the last few favorites have been: tomato and cucumber, turkey bacon on toast and good ol pb and j is the newest!

What I am looking forward to: Everything. Can't wait to meet him/her. I am excited to get his/her crib and set it up and pack our bags for the hospital! So much to do!

Milestones: Everyday is a milestone, time is passing by so quickly.

Hubby the Comedian

Some of my favorite blog pages from my adorable little Hamster friend over at
www.newlyb.blogspot.com is when she posts cute little mini-conversations between herself and her Husband. When my own Hubby had me laughing in the car while driving to the grocery store, I immediately asked his permission to share with the blog world what he said!

We were making casual conversation about the pre-natal classes that I registered for today. He is very interested and happy to be involved.

Me : "Oh yeah, I also registered for a breastfeeding clinic as well today!"

Hubby : In obvious deep thought within his own mind after hearing what I said, says very seriously "So, will we get to see boobs and stuff?"

Typical man.

Exhale

I'm so happy to be writing this post today!

I had a check up with the Doctor this past Tuesday and after discovering that I lost another 3 lbs he decided to send me for a rush ultrasound, just to put our minds at ease. Basically just to check that Gummy Bear is gaining weight and growing properly. The ultrasound department called me this morning and asked if I could be there by lunch time! Sissy came with me today because Hubby was working.

The ultrasound technician who performed the exam was so nice, she actually did my last one as well. She turned the screen so I could see everything and explained it all to me!! Long story short, Gummy is doing very well. He/she is weighing in at 2lbs 14 oz which is right on target!! His/her heart rate was 142bpm. It was so nice to see, and really put our minds at ease!! :)

Here is a little picture of the sweety on our first trip to get an ultrasound at 20 weeks:

its a beautiful little profile view of him/her!! You can even see the little nose!! So cute.

And, here is one of the pictures from today, its not as clear, because apparently they get cramped for space by this time and its more difficult to get a good picture:

The long thingy above the head is actually the arm. He/she is facing you, I know its hard to tell, but thats the little face :)

The funny thing is, I didn't realize how worried I was until I was actually laying down on the bed, getting the scan done. I was beyond relieved.

What a way to end the week!

Weird, Wacky Wednesday Lists

As I click through some of my favorite blogs, I can't help but notice that most have a regular, recurring post every week. I've decided to try out "Weird, Wacky Wednesday Lists" which is pretty self explanatory. Every Wednesday, I will choose a new subject give you my top ten list of that particular thingy.

So, what to choose this week?
Well, why not go for a nice, easy topic for the trial run shall we?

I think to keep it simplified for my own well being I will list them in no particular order! Its seems these days I have to concentrate REALLY hard to do simple tasks such as using a can opener without seriously injuring myself, so this way, I don't have to think quite so hard.

Top Ten TV Shows (Past OR Present)

1. Friends
Ahhhh, how I love thee. I get about, oh I would say, 77% of my conversational skills from this wonderful show! Joey and Phoebe are my favorites. Any loyal fan will chuckle to themselves as they read "Tout De La Fruit". Haha. And for the longest time I was actually considering the names "Crap Bag" and "Princess Conseula Banana Hammock" as possible names for Gummy. Brings a tear to my eye every time.

2. Modern Family
If you haven't watched this show......GO FIND IT!!! It is hilarious! The characters are fricken masterpieces. Just light TV fluff, but man, is it delicious fluff.

3. Big Brother
Even though Hubby is fast asleep up in our room for the evening, I can still see him shudder. What would a TV show list be without at least one, pointless, trashy reality TV guilty pleasure? I've loved this show since it's first season and happily admit I've got a little Rockstar Daughter who is as equally into it! Treats and Big Brother - Classic Combo in our Happy Little Home.

4. Dr. Phil
I know, I know. But I'm HOOKED!! I mean, yes, there are days where I want to go through the TV and grab him by his big, bald, spit shined head but I am always just so fascinated by all those people who WILLINGLY go on his show. Crazies.

5. Family Guy
Peter makes me feel a combination of feelings that are confusing to me. I always have to think, "Should I laugh" or "Should I write a letter to the network expressing how distasteful this show is". That about sums it up.

6. America's Next Top Model
Ok, so every TV list should have 2 reality TV shows on it. I love photography that includes people, I just think its some of the best art out there, so interesting. And, hey, if I can't be in the picture, might as well be some up and coming super models, right?

7. Deadliest Catch
SSSSHHHHHHH!!! Don't tel Hubby I put one of his shows on my list or he will make me try to watch more of them. Out of all the shows he watches, this one is my fave. I think its really interesting and paints a real picture of the life at sea. Plus, all the guys are super funny and you never know what they will say or do.

8. Diners, Drive Ins and Dives
This show is on the Food Network, which I love to watch (You would never know if you tasted my cooking haha)! This guy, named um....Guy. Seriously. Travels all over Canada and the USA in search of yummy, unique food. Do not watch this on an empty stomach. Bad idea!!

9. Survivor
Ok. 3. But this is my last one! The tribe has spoken.

10. The Office
Love. I can watch this show over and over. Which I do frequently, because it seems lately, its in high rotation. How can you not want to know people like Dwight K. Shrute and Andy Bernard? Actually, I like to think of Hubby as the perfect combination of both of these, with some Jim and Michael sprinkled in to even it out a little!

So, how did I do?
Which shows would you add?

That's Gonna Leave a Mark

Thought I would use tonight's Insomnia to post about my latest adventure. Don't get your hopes up, it's nothing exciting.

So, most of you already know, I am THE Clumsiest person in the Universe. I took a little "trip" today down my Nannie's steps. Landed on my bum, don't worry, absolutly NO belly trauma suffered whatsoever. Thankfully a friend was with me and he helped me get up so I could brush myself off. After dropping him off I decided to call Health Link 811 just to be sure, even though I felt fine and even did a little Twisty Dance to prove it to said friend and frazzled Nanny. The lady I was speaking to was very nice and asked me a bunch of questions. I had some back pain, which was located right on the tailbone so I knew that it was a result from the fall, but nonetheless she said that it was in my and Gummy's best interest to take a visit to the local ER to get a look over. I am not one to not follow medical advice, so I then called Hubby and off we went.

The nurse at the ER sent us up to the Labour and Delivery Unit Stat for an assessment. They were super nice there, very sweet and comforting. I got hooked up to the fetal monitor and finally got to hear the heartbeat of the baby! We were elated. It was very clear and averaged 145! After being monitored for an hour a having a few other routine tests we were given the go-ahead to leave. They said the baby sounds wonderful and not stressed at all! Yay

Other then the pain in my butt, literally, it's all good.

This isn't the first time my poor tailbone has taken a beating, and I have to say I forgot how painful it is. It's fine when I am up walking around. It's the sitting down, getting up and finding a comfortable position (hence the inability to sleep tonight) that hurts.

Yeeowch.

Lucky Gummy Bear and I are tough cookies.

Hawt Stuff

Holy frickin moly. Um.....anyone else finding it hard to exist in this heat?!?!

I mean, I don't usually mind it, and I am careful to stay out of the sun and indoors during the peak times, but man....it feels like my skin in literally peeling off my body. Ewww.

Anyone have some ideas on how to beat this heat besides heading to the beach or Ma and Pa H's pool or standing in my kitchen in front of the A.C. completely nekkid at any given time of the day?

*Disclaimer*
I don't actually stand there naked. Please don't feel like you can't visit. Well, maybe call first before you come and that way, you know you won't have any unexpected temporary blindness from the sight.

Cough, Cough, Sneeze, Sneeze

Boo to coming down with a cold. Double boo to coming down with a cold while preggo. Triple fricken boo to coming down with a cold while preggo on the HOTTEST summer day of the year while staying in your trailer on the beautiful Bras D'or Lakes while your Hubby is on vacay. Man. This sucks. Thankfully, our little trailer is only 1 hour away so I was able to make the trek home to my air conditioned, heavenly, happy little home safely and quickly. Still wish I was able to tough it out though. We stayed last night as well, so I guess all was not lost since I had a great evening and enjoyed a wonderful brekkie with Ma D (Eggs Benedict - my first time trying it....YUM!!).

I literally felt like I could barely breath in the humidity. Oh my, not a good feeling. I even DROVE to the beach, which, keep in mind, is literally down a hill (not even a steep hill) from our trailer and walked in the water with my glasses, skirt, top and shoes on to try to escape the heat, but I still felt like I was run over by a semi. And besides the heat, I was stalked all day by these monster, nun-chuck weilding Horse Flies from H. E. Double Hockey Sticks. My foot and hand are still swollen from the bites! They never had that effect on me before, so either Gummy Bear being in my belly makes me a little more sensitive to their nastiness or my pregnant blood is just so damn good that I was lucky enough to get more bites then usual.

Anyways, I'm back home again without my Hubby (he decided to stay the night to make the most of his vacay, and I have my Rockstar Daughter to dote on me) but with my good friends food network and laptop. Could be worse I suppose.

Hope everyone else enjoyed this glorious day! I know there will be plenty more where this one came from.

Sparkly Things

I am so very excited to have entered the final trimester of my pregnancy. It means we are THATMUCH closer to finally getting to meet Gummy Bear! Seeing as how time is truly sneaking on by, I have begun to spend my time thinking about something VERY important......

Family Rings!!!

I love me some bling.

Below I have designed two rings, both the same layout, but with a different stone for the new baby because he/she is due on October 1st....so it could go either way!

Here is the first one with the birth stone for October:

Here is the ring with the baby being born in September:

The stones are in order from Mommy (Diamond), Daddy (Garnet), Rockstar Daughter (Diamond), and Gummy Bear (Rose Zircon, which I've never heard of, OR Sapphire)

My personal fave is the second ring with the September stone.

I guess that means I will be doing whatever I need to get this lil monster outta there by the end of September. Hmmm, I wonder if he/she will respond to bribery as well as his/her big sister?

Babies n' new jewellery....what a combo!

Total Eclipse of the Heart

Rockstar Daughter and I went on a little date and made our way to Boston Pizza for supper then on to the Movie Theatre for some Edward/Jacob fixes (She is team Jacob and I'm team Edward!). Eclipse was, in my opinion, the best one yet! We both really liked it. The tickets were selling out very quickly, so we left early to pick them up then had a lovely supper. We had a few hours to kill so we decided to hit up the mall with some of her Grading Moolah. She didn't find anything she really wanted, so we left empty handed (She is VERY cheap and careful about what she buys... drives me nuts! haha). We thankfully decided to go back early because we figured there would be a line up to get in the theatre.....um....understatement of the YEAR! These line ups would rival those in Disney World! It was crazy! We waited for about an hour in line just to get our seats and don't even get me started about the line up for the concession stand! This Mamabear was pooped by the time we actually got to sit and watch the Vampire/Werewolf yumminess.

All in all, it was a great night filled with lots of laughs and quality time! I love my little Rockstar :)
